HPV Vaccines: Gardsil vs Ceravix: Human Papilloma virus (HPV) subtypes 6 or 11 cause genital warts in ninety percent of the time. HPV subtypes 16 and 18 are responsible for cervical cancer in women. HPV vaccine Gardsil protects against subtypes 6, 11, 16 and 18 seeking to prevent genital warts and cervical cancer. Ceravix covers subtypes 16 and 18, preventing cervical cancer, but not genital wart.
